When do you think androids/robots will be as common as cars?

Question by charchar88: When do you think androids/robots will be as common as cars?
I’m curious, I remember when I was 8 (1995) people were saying by 2010 we’ll have humanoid robots with AI to do simple jobs such as housecleaning and fast food ect. Clearly that isn’t any time soon and it’s 2008. Any one have an idea when it will be a reality like in the movie “I robot” or C3PO in star wars if anyone has seen it. Anyone have any insight?

I’m guessing 2040 at the latest.
